  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (110g)
  • 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar (100g)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (65g)
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter or crunchy (130g)
    I used crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the peanut butter, unsalted butter, sugar brown and granulated. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes. You can use the hand mixer also if you don’t have stand mixer.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla and mix. Scrape down the bowl. Beat again until well mixed well.
  5. With the mixer on low speed, gradually add in the flour mixture, and beat just until just joint. Stir in the chocolate chips. Or with a spatula start folding the flour with the mixer until joint.
  6. Drop 1 tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on the lined cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center. (The longer bake time will give you a crisper cookie.)
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the cookies firm up a bit.
  9. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days or frozen for several months.

These peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are a classic treat that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. The combination of creamy peanut butter and melty chocolate chips is simply irresistible. Enjoy a warm cookie straight from the oven or store them in an airtight container for a delicious snack later.

Tips:

  • For a chewy cookie, under bake slightly. For a crispier cookie, bake for a longer time.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for better results.
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
