- 5 medium apples, peeled & cut (600β650 g)
- ΒΌ cup (50 g) brown sugar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tbsp (8 g) cornstarch
- Β½ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Β½ tsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp (28 g) softened butter
For the Topping
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 90 ml (β cup + 1 tbsp) milk
- 2 tbsp (28 g) softened butter
- ΒΌ cup (50 g) sugar

- Preheat oven to 180Β°C / 350Β°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and butter. Toss until apples are evenly coated. Spread mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, milk, and butter until a thick batter forms.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the apple mixture, spreading slightly but leaving some gaps.
- Bake for 35β40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
